Chinese Military Recruits University Students

China will recruit better-educated university students for army this year to strengthen army forces, according to a national conscription tele-conference.

The conference, jointly held by the Ministry of Education and the department of defense mobilization under the Central Military Commission Monday in Beijing, marks the beginning of the nationwide army recruitment of college students in 2019.

This year's recruitment aims to attract more well-educated college students and elevate the overall quality of recruits by adjusting the scale and optimizing the structure of recruitment, according to the conference.

A website and information system for management of recruits' body check-ups are expected to be updated to make the recruitment procedure more efficient, fair, open and available for data sharing.
